Stupid Pony Ride 2020
Second Inaugural Edition of the Greatest Gravel Race/Ride/Shut Up Ever Named the Stupid Pony! Still 200+ miles of Pony Express but this year, we’re adding more gravel and moving it up in the year because SOME people like to see where they’re going or something. We’ll take off at 6am and let ‘er rip! This is a supported-ish ride across the West Desert – there’ll be aid stations at Simpson Springs and Gold Hill and water at Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge and that’s about it. We’ll have a follow truck again in case anyone’s looking to try to die out there. But other than that, it’s just you pulling your bones over the rocks until you reach the Wendover Airfield Museum, safety, warmth, pizza, and, depending on when you get in, a marathon viewing of movies shot at the airfield. We’ll have podiums the next day at the Salt Flats Cafe (this one’s uncertain but it would be awesome). Look at that: a well-oiled goddamned machine, ain’t it?
